2008 Contest: Home Waters Contest
Everyone has a fishing story to tell, especially young people. They are invited to share their stories with Kathryn through letters and pictures. Two lucky entries will be selected and revealed by Kathryn as she visits the boy and girl at their school. At that time she will make the thrilling announcement that the young star will be heading out for a day of fishing, sharing memories and stories about their home waters as they are being filmed for TV. Kathryn will also visit with friends and family who appreciate what makes the young angler such a sportsperson. They will share family photos and stories that will be included in the show.

Who taught you how to fish?

My Dad taught me how to fish when I was three, I love to fish! I remember when I was just four I caught a small bass, I was so excited to go back and tell my mom.

Why is fishing important to you?

Fishing is important to me because I usually go with my dad and my brother, and sometimes my mom. I think fishing is important because I spend time with my family. The fun part is catching the really, really big fish, until the fishing rod falls in the water.

Who taught you how to fish?

Hi, my name is Audrey. I am 3 years old and I am a fishing Princess.I’ve been fishing since I was in my mommy’s belly. I love nature and everything that comes with it. At this moment I only fished trouts but I always hope to have a salmon at the end of the line. ..lol. My goal is to fished my first salmon at the age of 5. Then I’ll be old enough. The first time I caught a trout, I threw myself in the lake, that’s how excited I was. My daddy is my teacher at this moment cause my mommy is always working in the summer at a fishing lodge. I want to follow my family’s love for the river.

Why is fishing important to you?

We love going fishing with our daughter not only for the fun of it, but to see the love and pride in her hands when she has a fishing rod in her hands. She loves watching you and your show and she tells us that one day she will be as good as you and she will be just like you.
